The systems deployed by ISES have been developed utilising the combined knowledge and experience of over 100 man years in the field, with thousands of pipeline and structural CP surveys undertaken over the last 40 years. This knowledge and experience has played a major part in the development of the most advanced and reliable online sub sea structural and pipeline CP inspection systems available anywhere.
CP-DAS® (Cathodic Protection Data Acquisition System)
The CP-DAS system, deployed by ROV is used to inspect the condition of offshore pipeline cathodic protection systems. Two high purity Ag/AgCl half cells are housed within a contact probe body, allowing contact and continuous potential & field gradient measurements to be taken. The raw analogue cathodic potentials from each of the cells are converted to a digital output. The data conversion is undertaken in a sub sea electronics pod, which is rated to 3000 msw depth. Data can be transmitted using either RS485 or RS232 protocols via the available ROV multiplexor. Depending on the requirements, data can also be digitised at the surface for input into the on-line logging computer.
The data is then transferred to an advanced analysis, reporting & charting suite for inclusion in the cathodic protection survey reports.
STABCON® – Single Cell Stab & Continuous CP Monitoring System
The STABCON system was developed by ISES to provide our Client’s with a simple, robust, cost effective, and operator friendly contact & continuous CP monitoring package. STABCON is ideal for use during offshore structural surveys where it is impracticable to make a hard wire connection when requiring continuous CP profile surveys. Stabcon utilises the remote CTC (Cell to Cell) technique which allows both direct CP & continuous readings to be displayed. The system does not require specialist CP survey personnel and can easily be integrated onto 3rd party logging systems with the system running as a “pop up” to be utilized as required and allowing display on Oceantools & Visualsoft video overlay systems.
The Stabcon system has been approved for use by a number of major oil & gas operators worldwide.
Trailing Wire CP Survey
ISES can also undertake trailing wire CP surveys, this method provides quick cost-effective method to gain information on the general condition of the pipeline’s CP system and is particularly useful when undertaking surveys of inshore and buried pipelines.
